Vent Haven Museum

Vent Haven Museum is the world's only museum of ventriloquial figures and memorabilia. Its collection contains more than 700 objects from 20 countries related to ventriloquism, including dolls that belonged to Edgar Bergen. The museum is in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, just 5 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Vent Haven Museum was founded by William Shakespeare Berger, a Cincinnati businessman and amateur ventriloquist. Berger amassed the collection from the 1930s until his death in 1973.

The museum is open seasonally from May 1st to September 30 on weekdays by appointment only.

Famous quotes containing the words vent, haven and/or museum:

I would rather produce my passions than brood over them at my expense; they grow languid when they have vent and expression. It is better that their point should operate outwardly than be turned against us.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

The dry eucalyptus seeks god in the rainy cloud.
Professor Eucalyptus of New Haven seeks him
In New Haven with an eye that does not look
    Beyond the object.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

When I go into a museum and see the mummies wrapped in their linen bandages, I see that the lives of men began to need reform as long ago as when they walked the earth. I come out into the streets, and meet men who declare that the time is near at hand for the redemption of the race. But as men lived in Thebes, so do they live in Dunstable today.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
