Kamboj has won many distinctions and awards including Ranbaxy Research award 1992 in Medical Sciences. On 12 January 2000, he was also awarded the Vigyan Gaurav Samman (including Rs 1,00,000.00 as cash award) by Council of Science & Technology (CST), Government of Uttar Pradesh for his contributions to Medical field. Dr Kamboj also holds honors like F.N.A.Sc., F.N.A etc.
