Vaudreuil-Hudson Line (AMT) - Future Projects

Future Projects

To ease over-crowding and attract new users the AMT, Aéroports de Montréal (ADM), Transport Canada and Via Rail have jointly developed a wide-ranging proposal that includes the enhancement of commuter train and inter-city train service between Downtown Montreal and the West Island of Montreal. The proposed rail shuttle between Trudeau airport and downtown Montreal would make the trip in under 20 minutes and have departures every 20 minutes. This 20 km (12 mi) long route would be built in a right of way reserved for passenger trains, which will accelerate access to the airport from the downtown core. The choice of final downtown destination (either Lucien L'Allier train station or Gare Centrale) has yet to be made. The expected end date for the entire project is between 2013 and 2015.

Famous quotes containing the words future and/or projects:

I was so grateful to be independent of the academic establishment. I thought, how awful it would be to have my future hinge on such people and such decisions.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)

But look what we have built ... low-income projects that become worse centers of delinquency, vandalism and general social hopelessness than the slums they were supposed to replace.... Cultural centers that are unable to support a good bookstore. Civic centers that are avoided by everyone but bums.... Promenades that go from no place to nowhere and have no promenaders. Expressways that eviscerate great cities. This is not the rebuilding of cities. This is the sacking of cities.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
