Early Life

Minnillo was born on November 9, 1980 in Clark Air Base, Pampanga, Philippines. Her father, Vincent Minnillo, is an American citizen of Italian and Irish descent, and her estranged mother Helen Bercero is Filipino. Minnillo has an adopted brother, Vincent Jr., who is two years older. Minnillo's family moved frequently because of her father's service in the Air Force. She lived in Washington, California, Nevada, Florida, Germany and Japan and attended eight different schools in nine years. Minnillo's parents separated in 1983 and were divorced in 1986.

Minnillo's mother remarried and she and her brother moved to Turkey with their mother and new stepfather. By 1991, in the wake of Operation Desert Shield, Minnillo and her brother returned to their father's home, eventually settling in Hanahan, South Carolina, where Minnillo attended the Roman Catholic Bishop England High School and was a cheerleader. From then on, she lived with her father and his second wife, Donna. She also attended Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, in San Bernardino, California, for one year.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

The science, the art, the jurisprudence, the chief political and social theories, of the modern world have grown out of Greece and Rome—not by favor of, but in the teeth of, the fundamental teachings of early Christianity, to which science, art, and any serious occupation with the things of this world were alike despicable.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

A moment that gave not only itself, but
Also the means of keeping it, of not turning to dust
    Or gestures somewhere up ahead
But of becoming complicated like the torrent
In new dark passages, tears and laughter which
Are a sign of life, of distant life in this case.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
