About Van Andel Arena
The original estimated cost to build the arena was at $75 million.
The 12,000-seat arena is managed by SMG Property Management. It was in recognition of the largest benefactors, Jay and Betty Van Andel.
Acts such as Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Roger Waters, The Who, Kiss, Rush, Kenny Chesney, The Harlem Globetrotters, World Wrestling Entertainment, Disney on Ice, NCAA Hockey Regional Championships, the AFL ArenaBowl XV game, Detroit Pistons & Michigan State University Basketball exhibition games have demonstrated the Arena's versatility.
The arena also hosted the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament in 2001, the only time in the event's 16-year history it was played outside of Indianapolis.
