Delegates
From 1975 to 1987 as well as from 1999 to 2002 Beckmeyer belonged to the Bremi citizenry. Here it was from 1979 to 1987 of deputy chairmen of the SPD faction.
Since 2002 he is a member of the German federal daily. Here it is for October 2004 speakers of the working group traffic, building and housing and/or since November 2005 traffic, building and town development of the SPD Bundestag faction. Since December 2005 he is a member of the parliamentary group executive committee.
Uwe Beckmeyer drew Bremerhaven always as directly selected delegates of the constituency Bremen II - into the Bundestag. With the election to the Bundestag 2005 he won 54.4% of first round voting.
