Utah Municipal Power Agency

Utah Municipal Power Agency is a cooperative of cities in the State of Utah. The cooperative includes the cities and towns of Levan, Utah; Manti, Utah; Nephi, Utah; Provo, Utah; Salem, Utah; and Spanish Fork, Utah which each own their own electric utility systems. The electric cooperative allows each of the member cities to pool power generation, transmission, and other resources to make the purchase and sale of electrical power to their customers competitive and affordable.

Famous quotes containing the words municipal, power and/or agency:

No sane local official who has hung up an empty stocking over the municipal fireplace, is going to shoot Santa Claus just before a hard Christmas.
    Alfred E. Smith (1873–1944)

    He
moves in a wood of desire,

    pale antlers barely stirring
as he hunts. I cannot tell
what power is at work, drenched there
    with purpose, knowing nothing.
    Thom Gunn (b. 1929)

It is possible that the telephone has been responsible for more business inefficiency than any other agency except laudanum.... In the old days when you wanted to get in touch with a man you wrote a note, sprinkled it with sand, and gave it to a man on horseback. It probably was delivered within half an hour, depending on how big a lunch the horse had had. But in these busy days of rush-rush-rush, it is sometimes a week before you can catch your man on the telephone.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)
