Famous quotes containing the words temporary, duty, hospital and/or ship:

Managing a tantrum involves nothing less than the formation of character. Even the parent’s capacity to cope well with conflict can improve with this experience. The parent learns that denying some pleasure does not create a neurotic child and the child learns that she can survive momentary frustration.
    Alicia F. Lieberman (20th century)

It is the duty of the President to propose and it is the privilege of the Congress to dispose.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)

You talk to children and they don’t hear you. They are television addicts. Mamas bring them home from the hospital and drag them up in front of the set and the great stare-out begins.
    Jackie Torrence (b. 1944)
