USS Stalwart (AMc-105)
USS Stalwart (AMc-105) was an Accentor-class coastal minesweeper acquired by the U.S. Navy for the dangerous task of removing mines from minefields laid in the water to prevent ships from passing.
Stalwart was laid down on 24 March 1941 by Snow Shipyards Co., Rockland, Maine; launched on 28 August 1941, sponsored by Miss Van Meter Blackie; and commissioned on 22 January 1942, Lt. (jg.) F. W. Dieht, USNR, in command.
