Famous quotes containing the words sunk, attempt and/or save:

    Her man falling asleep,
limp from dragging a plow sunk in mud,
    the slattern curses the rains,
    her pleasures unfinished.
    Hla Stavhana (c. 50 A.D.)

But what is quackery? It is commonly an attempt to cure the diseases of a man by addressing his body alone. There is need of a physician who shall minister to both soul and body at once, that is, to man. Now he falls between two stools.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Mad? Is it mad that you destroy other people to save yourselves? You have done this. Is it mad that one country must destroy another to save themselves? You have also done this. How then is it mad that one planet must destroy another who threatens their very existence?
    Edward D. Wood, Jr. (1922–1978)
