USS Neuendorf (DE-200)

USS Neuendorf (DE-200), a Buckley-class destroyer escort of the United States Navy, was named in honor of Seaman First Class William Frederick Neuendorf (1916–1941), who was killed in action during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.

Neuendorf was laid down at the Charleston Navy Yard on 15 February 1943; launched on 1 June 1943; sponsored by Mrs. Edna Rose Morton, sister of W. F. Neuendorf, Jr., SN1; and commissioned on 18 October 1943, Lieutenant Commander Jasper N. McDonald in command.
