Decommissioning
Muskingum continued with service with the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS) until an unknown date and was struck from the Navy List on 15 June 1973. On 1 April 1982 Muskingum was transferred to the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands Navy.
Her subsequent fate is not known.
