USS Lillian Anne (YFB-41)

USS Lillian Anne (YFB-41) was a United States Navy ferry in commission from 1942 to 1943.

Lillian Anne was built in 1895 by the Delaware River Iron Ship Building and Engine Works at Chester, Pennsylvania. The U.S. Navy acquired Lillian Anne from her owner, Captain R. W. Gatewood of Norfolk, Virginia, under a bare-boat charter in 1942 and commissioned as USS Lillian Anne (YFB-41) on 6 December 1942.

Lillian Anne served in the 5th Naval District until 9 July 1943, when she was placed out of service and returned to her owner.

Famous quotes containing the word lillian:

I had heard so much about how hard it was supposed to be that, when they were little, I thought it would be horrible when they got married and left. But that’s silly you know. . . . By the time they grow up, they change and you change. Eventually, they’re not the same little kids and you’re not the same mother. It’s as if everything just falls into a pattern and you’re ready.
