U.S. Route 40 in Maryland - Future

Future

The US 40 bridge over the Patapsco River in Ellicott City, originally constructed in 1936, will be replaced in a project that started in the spring of 2011 and is expected to be completed in 2013. During the bridge replacement, temporary bridges will be constructed to serve traffic for the first time in a major bridge project in Maryland.

As part of the Red Line project, segments of Edmondson Avenue and Franklin Street will be widened to allow construction of the future east-west light rail line inside the median area. The Red Line will also utilize the median of the US 40 freeway in West Baltimore.

Famous quotes containing the word future:

One day my mother called me ... and she said, “Forty-nine million Americans saw you on television tonight. One of them is the father of my future grandchild, but he’s never going to call you because you wore your glasses.”
    Lesley Stahl (b. 1941)

The future of America may or may not bring forth a black President, a woman President, a Jewish President, but it most certainly always will have a suburban President. A President whose senses have been defined by the suburbs, where lakes and public baths mutate into back yards and freeways, where walking means driving, where talking means telephoning, where watching means TV, and where living means real, imitation life.
    Arthur Kroker (b. 1945)

I would sum up my fear about the future in one word: boring. And that’s my one fear: that everything has happened; nothing exciting or new or interesting is ever going to happen again ... the future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul.
