School Values
UFA's school values are closely tied to the mindset and societal perception of its namesake, Dr. Ursula Franklin.
Ursula Franklin Academy is a small community of learners which offers integrated liberal arts packages, in addition to the general fundamental courses of T.D.S.B curriculum, preparing students for academic programs at the post-secondary level.
In addition to Ursula Franklin's values, UFA can be considered to have an effective academic program. It was considered in 2010 to have the highest academic rating in the TDSB.

Famous quotes containing the words school and/or values:
“But I am not tragically colored. There is no great sorrow dammed up in my soul, nor lurking behind my eyes. I do not mind at all. I do not belong to the sobbing school of negrohood who hold that nature somehow has given them a lowdown dirty deal.... No, I do not weep at the worldI am too busy sharpening my oyster knife.”
—Zora Neale Hurston (19071960)
“What we often take to be family valuesthe work ethic, honesty, clean living, marital fidelity, and individual responsibilityare in fact social, religious, or cultural values. To be sure, these values are transmitted by parents to their children and are familial in that sense. They do not, however, originate within the family. It is the value of close relationships with other family members, and the importance of these bonds relative to other needs.”
—David Elkind (20th century)
