The game received mixed reviews from critics and suffered from poor sales. Common criticisms included poor interface, poor controls, lack of variety, and steep difficulty and learning curves. Praise included innovative gameplay, excellent joystick support and the introductory video with music by Mark Snow.
In spite of its mediocre reception from consumers and press alike, as of 2012 the game retains an active fan community that releases game modifications and other content.
