Famous quotes containing the words upright and/or spin:

    The salt person and blasted place
    I furnish with the meat of a fable;
    If the dead starve, their stomachs turn to tumble
    An upright man in the antipodes
    Or spray-based and rock-chested sea:
    Over the past table I repeat this present grace.
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

    Words can have no single fixed meaning. Like wayward electrons, they can spin away from their initial orbit and enter a wider magnetic field. No one owns them or has a proprietary right to dictate how they will be used.
    David Lehman (b. 1948)
