An up and under is a type of kick in various codes of football. It is a high short punt onto or behind the defending team, and is a useful tactic both for attacking and defending. In Australian rules football and rugby league it also known as a bomb, while in rugby union it is also called a Garryowen after the Garryowen Football Club that popularised the use of this tactic.
