Criticism and Responses
Unobtrusive JavaScript can take longer to develop and can be harder to read through later on as one would need to reference external code to find if an object is tied to any events. It also ends up causing effects similar to the flash of unstyled content, as page elements are rendered before the document finishes downloading and visibly modified later, especially on older web browsers that do not support DOMContentLoaded.

Famous quotes containing the words criticism and, criticism and/or responses:
“A friend of mine spoke of books that are dedicated like this: To my wife, by whose helpful criticism ... and so on. He said the dedication should really read: To my wife. If it had not been for her continual criticism and persistent nagging doubt as to my ability, this book would have appeared in Harpers instead of The Hardware Age.”
—Brenda Ueland (18911985)
“It is ... pathetic to observe the complete lack of imagination on the part of certain employers and men and women of the upper-income levels, equally devoid of experience, equally glib with their criticism ... directed against workers, labor leaders, and other villains and personal devils who are the objects of their dart-throwing. Who doesnt know the wealthy woman who fulminates against the idle workers who just wont get out and hunt jobs?”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
“Apathy is one of the characteristic responses of any living organism when it is subjected to stimuli too intense or too complicated to cope with. The cure for apathy is comprehension.”
—John Dos Passos (18961970)
