Background Story
Base sets in Magic: The Gathering have no coherent background story and Unlimited is not an exception to this. The flavor text on cards in Unlimited is usually meant to evoke a generic fantasy feeling, but several cards also include quotations from books and poems of Edgar Allan Poe, Samuel Coleridge, and Marianne Moore.

Famous quotes containing the words background and/or story:
“I had many problems in my conduct of the office being contrasted with President Kennedy’s conduct in the office, with my manner of dealing with things and his manner, with my accent and his accent, with my background and his background. He was a great public hero, and anything I did that someone didn’t approve of, they would always feel that President Kennedy wouldn’t have done that.”
—Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
“The history of men’s opposition to women’s emancipation is more interesting perhaps than the story of that emancipation itself.”
—Virginia Woolf (1882–1941)
