Politicians include the 28th and current Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario David Onley, Member of Parliament for Scarborough—Guildwood John McKay, Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough—Guildwood Margarett Best, and former Member of Provincial Parliament Mary Anne Chambers. Sports personalities who graduated from the University of Toronto Scarborough include marathon swimmer Cindy Nicholas, sports broadcaster and fomer Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Gord Stellick, and youngest-ever Canadian national cricket team player Ruvindu Gunasekera. Toronto-based artist Doris McCarthy also graduated from the campus.
