Athletics
The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie sponsors five varsity level teams, known as the Indians, to compete in Region X of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Indians field two women's teams in soccer and softball . The men's teams compete in baseball, basketball and soccer. Baseball, soccer, and softball are held at the Allendale West campus; basketball is held at the Walterboro East campus. The movie Radio was filmed in Walterboro and the basketball games in the movie were shot at the Walterboro East campus gymnasium.
