Demographics
As of the fall as of 2005 semester, the university had 13,544 undergraduate students and 2,481 graduate students enrolled in more than 100 majors. The university is 61 percent in-state students, 38 percent out-of-state students and 2 percent international students; and is 57 percent female and 43 percent male. The administration is also making a push to increase and promote diversity. There have been difficulties in this regard, with the school's paper leading a 2009 story with the line "Hate crimes at UNH are not a new phenomenon."
