Academic Structure
In terms of academic subdivisions, the university is made up of four colleges, which are in turn made up of several schools. In most cases, a subdivision is spread across one or more of the university's geographical campuses. For example, the Chemistry is located across both Pietermaritzburg and Westville campuses.

Famous quotes containing the words academic and/or structure:
“The poker player learns that sometimes both science and common sense are wrong; that the bumblebee can fly; that, perhaps, one should never trust an expert; that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of by those with an academic bent.”
—David Mamet (b. 1947)
“Slumism is the pent-up anger of people living on the outside of affluence. Slumism is decay of structure and deterioration of the human spirit. Slumism is a virus which spreads through the body politic. As other isms, it breeds disorder and demagoguery and hate.”
—Hubert H. Humphrey (19111978)
