Recent Developments and Investment in Health and Science
$1.6 billion dollars in construction has recently been undertaken at the university related to fields in health and science. These projects greatly expand the University of Alberta's research capacity in the field of health in particular. The University of Alberta attracts approximately $500 million in external research funding a year, the second highest in Canada; this funding is expected to increase due to added state-of-the-art research and teaching capacity.
