Union of Iranian Communists (Sarbedaran)

Union of Iranian Communists (Sarbedaran), UIC (S) (Persian: اتحادیه کمونیست‌های ایران‎) was an Iran Maoist organization. UIC (S) was formed in 1976 after the alliance of a number of Maoist groups carrying out military actions within Iran. Although it has gone under several ideological crises and has experienced major changes in strategies and tactics, it has always maintained a Maoist party line and has always believed that Iran is not a Capitalist society but is a “semicolonial-semifeudal” one.

In 2001 the UIC (S) became the Communist Party of Iran (Marxist-Leninist-Maoist).

Famous quotes containing the words union and/or communists:

We must choose. Be a child of the past with all its crudities and imperfections, its failures and defeats, or a child of the future, the future of symmetry and ultimate success.
Frances E. Willard 1839–1898, U.S. president of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union 1879-1891, author, activist. The Woman’s Magazine, pp. 137-40 (January 1887)

The believing mind reaches its perihelion in the so-called Liberals. They believe in each and every quack who sets up his booth in the fairgrounds, including the Communists. The Communists have some talents too, but they always fall short of believing in the Liberals.
