Popular Culture
- In 1990, Israeli composer Yair Rosenblum composed a new musical setting for the prayer Link to performance. This version was first performed at a memorial for 11 soldiers from kibbutz Beit Hashita who fell during the 1973 Yom Kippur war, and is now often played on Israeli radio during the High Holy Days.
- Leonard Cohen's "Who by Fire" is inspired by this poem.

Famous quotes related to popular culture:
“Popular culture is seductive; high culture is imperious.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“Popular culture entered my life as Shirley Temple, who was exactly my age and wrote a letter in the newspapers telling how her mother fixed spinach for her, with lots of butter.... I was impressed by Shirley Temple as a little girl my age who had power: she could write a piece for the newspapers and have it printed in her own handwriting.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
