Appearance
The undulate ray features a disc-shaped head, and small prickles used for protection. The dorsal fins are quite far apart, normally with two dorsal spines between them. Median spines are scattered in adults, regular on young. The males have one lateral row each side, whereas the females have two. It typically weighs about 10 lb (4.5 kg), but can reach to as much as 20 lb (9.1 kg).
