Uma Singh was a Nepali journalist who was killed during conflict. Singh was working in the Terai region of the country as a radio journalist for Janakpur Today FM. On January 15, 2009, she was killed by 15 armed men who entered her rented apartment. Following her death, there was widespread protest in the country for weeks.
