The Field Elm Ulmus minor sensu latissimo cultivar 'Pendula' was listed by C. de Vos in Handboek 20, 1887, as Ulmus sativa pendula, and much later by Boom in Ned. Dendr. 1: 158, 1959, as a cultivar.
