The UCCU Center, formerly known as the David O. McKay Events Center, is a 8,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Orem, Utah. It was built in 1996 and is home to the Utah Valley University Wolverines basketball team. It is the home of Utah Jazz's NBA Development League affiliate team, the Utah Flash. On January 19, 2010 Utah Valley University announced its plans to sell the naming rights to the David O. McKay Events Center at the request of the donor family to help the university raise money. At the same time Utah Valley University named its education building after David O. McKay. On August 30, 2010 Utah Community Credit Union announced that it had acquired the naming rights to the Event Center.
The UCCU Center has grown to host many top touring shows such as ZZ Top, Boston, Lonestar, Styx, Maroon 5, Lifehouse, INXS, OneRepublic, Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Kelly Clarkson and more along with family shows like Wasatch Christmas, Bar J Wranglers, Jordan World Circus, The Forgotten Carols and Kurt Bestor. This multi-purpose facility can host basketball, football, family shows, concert settings with various capacities, trade shows, Expos, and several set ups to accommodate just about any event.
