Twenty Four Seven Tour

The Twenty Four Seven Tour (also known as the Twenty Four Seven Millennium Tour and 24/7 World Tour) is the eighth concert tour by American singer, Tina Turner. The tour promoted her final studio album, Twenty Four Seven. Although she stated this numerous times in the past, Turner announced that feat would be her final "show stopping" tour. She stated she would continue to make records and perform at small venues and award shows. The tour was sponsored by E*Trade.

Actress Gloria Reuben served as a background dancer and singer during the first North American leg of the tour. According to Pollstar, the 2000 tour became the highest grossing tour in North America. This status was achieved over her peers, Barbra Streisand and Bruce Springsteen as well as, newcomers 'N Sync and Britney Spears. The North American tour dates grossed over $80 million dollars.

However, Turner would return to touring in 2008 with her anniversary tour.

Famous quotes containing the words twenty and/or tour:

The absolute dependence of a newborn infant inspired many things in me, but it did not activate any magical knowledge about what to do for the next twenty years.
    Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)

Do you know I believe that [William Jennings] Bryan will force his nomination on the Democrats again. I believe he will either do this by advocating Prohibition, or else he will run on a Prohibition platform independent of the Democrats. But you will see that the year before the election he will organize a mammoth lecture tour and will make Prohibition the leading note of every address.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)
