Race walker Hatem Ghoula stayed with the leading group through 10 km, but fell back after that and came in more than 3 minutes behind to post Tunisia's best result of the Games in athletics. None of the other members of the Tunisian team managed to advance out of the first round, though Sofiane Labidi was within 0.2 s of advancing to the second round of the Men's 400 metres.
