Criticism

Triumph came under criticism for renting a factory owned by the military regime in Burma. A campaign against Triumph's labor and factory in Burma led to the Norwegian Olympic team canceling their contract with Triumph in 2001. Triumph pulled out of Burma in 2002 as public pressure and the dialog around Burma transitioned to state government institutions.

Famous quotes containing the word criticism:

Like speaks to like only; labor to labor, philosophy to philosophy, criticism to criticism, poetry to poetry. Literature speaks how much still to the past, how little to the future, how much to the East, how little to the West.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Nothing would improve newspaper criticism so much as the knowledge that it was to be read by men too hardy to acquiesce in the authoritative statement of the reviewer.
    Richard Holt Hutton (1826–1897)

I consider criticism merely a preliminary excitement, a statement of things a writer has to clear up in his own head sometime or other, probably antecedent to writing; of no value unless it come to fruit in the created work later.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
