Trinity Southwest University - Academic Program

Academic Program

TSU comprises five Colleges covering the following disciplines:

  • Biblical Studies
  • Theological Studies
  • Archaeology & Biblical History
  • Biblical Counseling
  • Biblical Representational Research

TSU offers a Judeo-Christian education that recognizes Holy Scripture, namely, the Bible, as consisting of both the Old Testament and New Testament, as the basis of all learning, whether biblical, religious, ministerial, professional, denominational or evangelical.

TSU also recognizes legitimate life-experience credits, or portfolio credits, for professional, ministry, work and life experience.

Woven into these various disciplines and subjects are elements of Biblical History, Jewish History and Church History, and they can be taken from a variety of perspectives, including denominational, non-denominational, inter-denominational, trans-denominational, evangelical, Catholic and/or Episcopal, Reformed, and even Secular.

Like other theological schools, Trinity Southwest University focuses on the reality of God and the spiritual dimension of life, but it also centers on Holy Land Studies, i.e., the study of the Bible Lands in which the stories of Scripture occurred. Thus, TSU is heavily involved in offering Travel Study experiences in the Holy Land through its Bible Lands Expedition and Excavation programs.

Trinity sponsors archaeological excavations at several sites in Israel and Jordan. It also schedules regular study tours in Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, and other biblically-related locations. And TSU Travel Study can be done for course credit. Trinity Southwest University students have The Land as their classroom, as they study and excavate in Israel and Jordan.

Trinity Southwest University also sponsors the International Symposium on Archaeology and the Bible, held annually at various locations around the world.

The Christ-centered education provided by the quality undergraduate degree, graduate degree, and doctoral degree programs of Trinity Southwest University are available to students of all colors and creeds.

Famous quotes containing the words academic and/or program:

Short of a wholesale reform of college athletics—a complete breakdown of the whole system that is now focused on money and power—the women’s programs are just as doomed as the men’s are to move further and further away from the academic mission of their colleges.... We have to decide if that’s the kind of success for women’s sports that we want.
Christine H. B. Grant, U.S. university athletic director. As quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education, p. A42 (May 12, 1993)

The blacksmith dropped his hammer, the carpenter his plane, the mason his trowel, the farmer his sickle, the baker his loaf, and the tapster his bottle. All were off for the mines, some on horses, some on carts, and some on crutches, and one went in a litter.
