Ports, Harbours and Waterways
Lake Nyasa (Lake Malawi) and Shire River (144 kilometres) provide the major waterweays. There is a railhead at the port of Chipoka. Smaller ports exist at Monkey Bay, Nkhata Bay, Nkhotakota and Chilumba.
