Transfer Factor - Side Effects

Side Effects

Human-derived transfer factor appears to be safe for use for up to two years and bovine-derived cellular transfer factor for up to three months. Side effects include fever and swelling and pain at the injection site. Concern has been raised over the possibility of catching Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (Mad Cow Disease) or other diseases from animal-derived products. Transfer factors are contraindicated for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Because human- and bovine-derived transfer factor are generated from blood cells they carry the potential for blood-borne disease such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C.

Famous quotes containing the words side and/or effects:

But how do the poor minority fare? Perhaps it will be found that just in proportion as some have been placed in outward circumstances above the savage, others have been degraded below him. The luxury of one class is counterbalanced by the indigence of another. On the one side is the palace, on the other are the almshouse and “silent poor.”
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The machines that are first invented to perform any particular movement are always the most complex, and succeeding artists generally discover that, with fewer wheels, with fewer principles of motion, than had originally been employed, the same effects may be more easily produced. The first systems, in the same manner, are always the most complex.
    Adam Smith (1723–1790)
