Tom Ritchey - Current Production

Current Production

Ritchey still offers a full line of frames and continues to make contributions in bicycle design and engineering. One recent design is the Break-Away Bike, performance- oriented road and cyclocross bikes that separate to pack in a suitcase for travel.

Tom Ritchey has been at the forefront of cycling innovation since the very beginning. - Tom's Vector Force Analysis (VFA) tread designs revolutionized mountain bike tires. - His 3D Net Forged WCS Stems led the way to a new generation of lighter, stiffer and stronger stems. - Off Center Rim Technology (OCR) raised the bar for lightweight wheels. - In the 1980's, Tom's Logic steel tubing changed the way tubing manufacturers thought about butting profiles, ushering in a new era of lighter, more lively yet tough as nails steel bikes.

Ritchey is known for his handlebar mustache.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or production:

It is not however, adulthood itself, but parenthood that forms the glass shroud of memory. For there is an interesting quirk in the memory of women. At 30, women see their adolescence quite clearly. At 30 a woman’s adolescence remains a facet fitting into her current self.... At 40, however, memories of adolescence are blurred. Women of this age look much more to their earlier childhood for memories of themselves and of their mothers. This links up to her typical parenting phase.
    Terri Apter (20th century)

An art whose limits depend on a moving image, mass audience, and industrial production is bound to differ from an art whose limits depend on language, a limited audience, and individual creation. In short, the filmed novel, in spite of certain resemblances, will inevitably become a different artistic entity from the novel on which it is based.
George Bluestone, U.S. educator, critic. “The Limits of the Novel and the Limits of the Film,” Novels Into Film, Johns Hopkins Press (1957)
