Tokyo Station - Proposed Developments

Proposed Developments

There are plans to build a spur from the nearby Toei Asakusa Line, which would provide Tokyo Station a second direct connection to the subway network, and also possibly provide faster connections from the station to Tokyo's airports, Haneda and Narita.

A JR East project will extend the services of the Utsunomiya Line, the Takasaki Line, and the Jōban Line to Tokyo Station by constructing the Tōhoku Jūkan Line from Ueno Station.

Famous quotes containing the words proposed and/or developments:

To coöperate in the highest as well as the lowest sense, means to get our living together. I heard it proposed lately that two young men should travel together over the world, the one without money, earning his means as he went, before the mast and behind the plow, the other carrying a bill of exchange in his pocket. It was easy to see that they could not long be companions or coöperate, since one would not operate at all. They would part at the first interesting crisis in their adventures.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The developments in the North were those loosely embraced in the term modernization and included urbanization, industrialization, and mechanization. While those changes went forward apace, the antebellum South changed comparatively little, clinging to its rural, agricultural, labor-intensive economy and its traditional folk culture.
    C. Vann Woodward (b. 1908)
