Coaching Career
Shortly after his retirement in 2011, Payten was announced as the coach for the Wests Tiger's NYC team in 2012. In his first season as coach, the Tigers finished 4th in the regular season. They went on to win all their post-season games, including beating pre-game favourite Canberra Raiders 46-6 in the grand final.
