Famous quotes containing the words concern, marie and/or presley:
“The division between the useful arts and the fine arts must not be understood in too absolute a manner. In the humblest work of the craftsmen, if art is there, there is a concern for beauty, through a kind of indirect repercussion that the requirements of the creativity of the spirit exercise upon the production of an object to serve human needs.”
—Jacques Maritain (18821973)
“After the earthquake, which had destroyed three-quarters of Lisbon, the countrys wise men had found no more efficacious means of preventing total ruin than to give the people a fine auto-da-fé.”
—Voltaire [François Marie Arouet] (16941778)
“I wish not to be given a title or an appointed position. I can and will do more good if I were made a Federal Agent at Large, and I will help best by doing it my way through my communications with people of all ages. First and Foremost I am an entertainer but all I need is the Federal Credentials.”
—Elvis Presley (19351977)
