When the rest of Eastern Europe became Soviet Union's satellite states, Yugoslavia refused to accept he 1948 Resolution of the Cominform and the period from 1948 to 1955, known as the Informbiro, was marked by severe repression of opponents and many others accused of pro-Stalin attitudes to the penal camp on Goli otok.
