Sticks 'N' Stuff Involvement

Despite no longer driving the Sticks 'N' Stuff-sponsored race car, Gordon continues to appear in the chain's television commercials announcing current specials. In earlier ads, she was captioned as "NASCAR Driver" and "Sticks 'N' Stuff Driver". In the most recent television ads for "Sticks 'N' Stuff", debuted in the summer of 2008, Ms. Gordon has been shown wearing a tank-top, rather than traditional racing attire.

Famous quotes containing the words sticks, stuff and/or involvement:

It is now many years that men have resorted to the forest for fuel and the materials of the arts: the New Englander and the New Hollander, the Parisian and the Celt, the farmer and Robin Hood, Goody Blake and Harry Gill; in most parts of the world, the prince and the peasant, the scholar and the savage, equally require still a few sticks from the forest to warm them and cook their food. Neither could I do without them.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

I, who cannot stay in my chamber for a single day without acquiring some rust,... confess that I am astonished at the power of endurance, to say nothing of the moral insensibility, of my neighbors who confine themselves to shops and offices the whole day for weeks and months, aye, and years almost together. I know not what manner of stuff they are of,—sitting there now at three o’clock in the afternoon, as if it were three o’clock in the morning.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

It may be tempting to focus on the fact that, even among those who support equality, men’s involvement as fathers remains a far distance from what most women want and most children need. Yet it is also important to acknowledge how far and how fast many men have moved towards a pattern that not long ago virtually all men considered anathema.
    Katherine Gerson (20th century)
