Tim Smith (born 3 July 1961 in Carshalton, Surrey, England) is an English singer-songwriter, composer, poet, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and music video director, best known as the lead singer of the band Cardiacs.

Smith is well known for his unique singing and songwriting styles, as well as his poetically cryptic, philosophical and abstract lyrics, and for his profound influence on over three decades of musicians (including the pioneers of the Avant-Garde Metal and Math Rock genres).
