Cultivation
Like its relative T. occidentalis and many other conifer species, T. plicata has been extensively bred throughout the world for ornamental purposes in parks and gardens. A wide variety of forms, sizes and colours is available. The following cultivars have gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit:-

- 'Stoneham gold'
