Marriage and Family
In November 1792, stationed with the Black Legion in Amiens, Dumas married Marie-Louise Labouret in Villers-CotterĂȘts. She stayed in Villers-CotterĂȘts with her family during his military campaigns. Dumas bought a farm of 30 acres there. They had daughters Marie-Alexandrine (born September 10, 1794), Louise-Alexandrine (born 1796, died 1797), and a son, Alexandre Dumas, who became a prolific and notable author, with numerous successes in plays and especially adventure novels.
