Therese Murray (born October 10, 1947 in Boston) is an American state legislator who has served as President of the Massachusetts Senate since March 2007. Murray, a Democrat, is the first woman to lead a house of the Massachusetts General Court. She has represented the Plymouth and Barnstable district in the Massachusetts Senate since 1993.
