The Whatsonstage.com Awards, or alternatively, the Whatsonstage.com "theatregoers' choice" prizes, formerly known as the Theatregoers' Choice Awards, are organised by the theatre website Whatsonstage.com and recognise performers and productions of British theatre with emphasis on London's West End.
Nominations and eventual winners are selected by the theatre-going public's vote. The awards are held each February. In 2012, they were staged at the West End's Prince of Wales Theatre.
Famous quotes containing the words choice and/or award:
“Nobody is so constituted as to be able to live everywhere and anywhere; and he who has great duties to perform, which lay claim to all his strength, has, in this respect, a very limited choice. The influence of climate upon the bodily functions ... extends so far, that a blunder in the choice of locality and climate is able not only to alienate a man from his actual duty, but also to withhold it from him altogether, so that he never even comes face to face with it.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
“The award of a pure gold medal for poetry would flatter the recipient unduly: no poem ever attains such carat purity.”
—Robert Graves (18951985)
