Finale
In the final episode, the four students steal a red AEC Routemaster after robbing a bank, only to drive it through a billboard with a picture of Cliff Richard on it and then over an actual cliff, which the bus rolls down until it comes to rest at the bottom, completely upright—at which point they proclaim—in unison—"Phew! That was close!", after which the bus bursts into flames. The fact that the Young Ones would reappear in the future (such as at Comic Relief in 1986) suggests that this experience did not kill them.
