"Puddocky" is a German fairy tale. A variant, "Cherry," was collected by the Brothers Grimm, and in French, Madame d'Aulnoy retold it in a literary fairy tale as "The White Cat", altering the tale's frog into a cat.
Famous quotes containing the words white and/or cat:
“What a lay me down this is
with two pink, two orange,
two green, two white goodnights.”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“Thrice the brinded cat hath mewd.
Thrice and once the hedge-pig whind.
Harper cries: Tis time, tis time.
Round about the cauldron go;
In the poisond entrails throw.”
